The Remote Worker Self-Study Workbook helps you create remote work settings and processes to support your strongest behavioral traits.
Working remotely comes with different situations and requirements from a conventional work environment. You schedule, organize, and manage your work day differently. How you communicate is different. You can’t just call a team huddle or spontaneously run to your colleague’s office to ask a question.
There is the obvious physical distancing from the organization, but there may be psychological distancing as well. How can understanding your behavioral traits support your ability to be a more productive and successful remote worker?
Remote Worker Self-Study Workbook
The Remote Worker Self-Study Workbook is a self-paced, self-guided assessment and workbook. It helps you create a work routine that works best for you in a remote setting. It also helps you become more aware of your behavioral traits in order to help you feel more productive, and motivated.
Your Extended DISC® Behavioral Analysis Questionnaire results are compared against the different key success factors and support needs of remote work. It is designed to describe how a person, with the same DISC Style as you, typically behaves and is seen by other people.
You may have already given special focus on developing some aspects of your behavior, thus extending your flexibility zones from what they naturally would be. The more you are able to adjust your routines, communication, and the way of working to match your natural behavioral style, the more comfortable you feel working remotely.
Before you start
The prerequisite to this workbook is the My Self-Study Workbook. It describes the DISC Theory and behavioral models in detail, providing you with a much deeper understanding of why certain situations feel more comfortable for you and why you generally succeed better in certain types of situations.
BEFORE you start the workbook, it’s also helpful to think about your current situation:
- What aspects concern you the most about working remotely?
- What aspects of remote work do you like and what are the potential challenges for you?
How to use the Self-Study Workbook

The Workbook also looks at three key mental factors to focus on, along with tips to support developing them further. The key mental factors are:

Finally, working remotely does not mean working without interacting with others. There are three key contact factors to help you understand how you communicate with the rest of the organization and how the rest of the organization may communicate with you. The key communication factors are:
- How To Communicate With You

Your ideas on how to adjust, how to organize your day, etc. are valuable and benefit how you work remotely. Once you’ve begun using the Workbook, go through it again. You may find yourself focusing on different sections or reviewing completed sections. Reviewing your notes in your Workbook enables you to focus and prioritize the key factors which would give you the most effective results in your current situation.
